A reader on Reddit pointed out that NeeDoh had been hyped on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram since before Easter 2026, and that the Aldi Halloween drop drew lines before opening. The reader was right. We were roughly nine to ten months late.

What went wrong
Our method treated a restock streak as an early signal. For NeeDoh, restocks and sell-outs were the end of the story: national shortage, national news and big-box drops had all happened months earlier. We had no check for “is this already mainstream?” and no measure of how old the first signal was. Both are now part of our method.

The Amazon listing is Schylling NeeDoh Nice Ice Baby: one 1.25-inch cube, pack of one, color may vary. The photo shows a translucent blue cube in the box, with pink and purple cubes beside it. It is a sensory fidget for ages 3 and up, the teenie size of the brand’s Nice Cube. The listing had about 5,044 ratings when we wrote this. Amazon is the only shop link on this page.
Needoh ice cube fidget toy
A needoh ice cube is a squishy ice cube fidget: one small cube you squeeze in a hand, not a set and not a kitchen toy. Shoppers also type needoh fidget toy, schylling needoh nice cube, or squishy ice cube fidget for kids. Nice Ice Baby is the name on the box. Those shorter phrases are how people look it up.
Signals we can actually cite
- Amazon restocks: Restockd tracked about 83 Amazon restocks in 30 days for Nice Ice Baby, with the latest around November 3–4, 2026. That is a scarcity pattern. It is not a promise the cube stays sold out, and it is not a forecast that it will go viral.
- Restock alerts: TYPA’s NeeDoh tracker flags Amazon back-in-stock alerts, including this cube. The same page follows the wider NeeDoh line, which restocks heavily too. An alert app’s own totals are not a sales forecast.
- What the toy is: a wholesome fidget and sensory cube, age 3 and up. No adult theme, and nothing to do with drugs.
