Signals are not guarantees. A fast Kickstarter can fade at the outlet box. This page is public reporting plus the two shops we checked. It is not a forecast, and it is not electrical instructions.
Early–mid
What it is
InvisOutlet Aura, from San Jose company Intecular, replaces a standard US wall outlet. Two receptacles can be switched separately. The faceplate has a strip of color light Intecular sells as a night light and as a status glow (a door left open, laundry finished). It speaks Matter, so the listing names Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant. It needs a neutral wire. If swapping an outlet is not a job you already do, this is not an impulse buy. We are not writing the install.
We file it under Home & Decor because the thing you see is light on a wall, in a hallway or a bedroom. It is also a gadget. The category’s usual first stop is Pinterest and room-makeover video. Those are not why it is on this page.
Signals we can actually cite
- Crowdfund speed, 19 August 2025: Intecular’s launch post says the Kickstarter opened that day. A company LinkedIn post says it fully funded in 22 minutes and passed $100,000 within a week. The finished total, on Intecular’s site and on LaunchBoom, is $157,110 from 868 backers, 1,571% of the goal. An earlier product, InvisOutlet Pro, had its own tally (the launch post says over $160,000 from 839 backers). That number is not this campaign.
- Second signal, because a pledge total is not enough: Matter Alpha, 4 March 2026, reported the first Amazon sale at $49.99 after a campaign it described as more than $157,000. On 31 October 2026 Intecular’s own shop still said out of stock, with shipping expected by the end of October 2026. The same day Amazon had ASIN B0G63TQFV7 in stock at $35.99, sold by Intecular, shipped by Amazon, with about 24 ratings at 4.6.
- A mild visual, not a five-second wow: the colored strip reads in a clip. It does not explain a trick the way a scent pod does. We do not give it that point. The score is the 22-minute fund plus a real checkout and a brand shop that had not caught up.
Why this stage and meter
Early–mid, meter 3/5. The campaign is a year old and Amazon has been up since early 2026, but 24 ratings is not a household product, and the company’s own store was still quoting a ship date on the day we identified it. Crowdfunding got it on the list. The two stock pages are why it stayed.

Some searches say power strip or flat-plug extender. This page is the in-wall outlet with the light strip. People also type smart outlet with color night light and invisoutlet aura bedroom night light. It needs a neutral wire, and we are not writing the install.
