What it is
NeoSander is a cordless detail sander small enough to sit in a palm. HOZO describes a reciprocating linear motor, up to 13,000 strokes a minute, meant for edges and corners on 3D prints, scale models, resin and small wood or metal work. It is not a sheet sander for a floor. The Amazon listing is sold by HOZO Design Co., Limited.
Signals we can actually cite
- Crowdfund, 20 January 2026: HOZO’s press release that day says the Kickstarter opened then. A separate line in that release, more than $2.8 million and 16,000 backers, is the company’s older campaigns. We do not add it to NeoSander.
- The NeoSander total, stated at retail: the 11 June 2026 release says the campaign raised more than $2 million from over 14,000 backers, that direct sales on hozodesign.com began 5 June, and that Amazon was live. A pledge count that large is the early detector. It is not, by our rule, enough on its own.
- Second signal, the checkout: on 31 October 2026 the Amazon page (ASIN B0GY7X66J6) was in stock at $69.99, sold by HOZO, with 100+ bought in the past week and about 308 ratings at 4.2. The official shop was selling it too. The Irish Examiner reviewed the tool on 27 August 2026.
- Not a five-second consumer wow: a clip of linear sanding versus a rotary tool is a workshop demo. We do not score it the way we score a scent trick or a blind-box face. The demand evidence is the campaign plus the weeks of Amazon orders, not the demo.
Why this stage and meter
Early–mid, meter 3/5. Both the campaign and the retail launch are 2026, and this is still a maker’s tool rather than a gift-guide staple. Some of the Amazon reviews say the sanding heads and the paper cost too much. Read that before you treat “100+ bought this week” as a reason to click.
